Classroom Managers and Descriptions

Managers will be selected weekly. In order to find out whom the manager is for the week, students are to reference the Duty Poster, which is located on the wall directly above the teacher’s desk. Managers must be the first to report to class during their week of service.

All manager descriptions will be taught using an interactive PowerPoint. The interactive PowerPoint will inform students of the correct way to abide by the procedures of the class. The “interactive” piece of the power point comes when I allow volunteers to display the incorrect procedures. After the PowerPoint presentation, students will be given a worksheet, which encompasses all of the managers that were discussed. After students have successfully completed the worksheet, volunteers will be chosen to model the correct behaviors. During the paper manager, tail, line leader, and material manager model, the entire class will participate because the entire class has a specific role while the listed managers conduct their duty. After the models have been shown, students will review by taking a quiz. Each student will take the quiz until they pass. Finally, students will be tested each day of the school year (informally) on the procedures and behaviors. Students will be praised for correctly displaying behaviors and reprimanded for incorrectly displaying behaviors.
